Introducing our team
The founder of First Step IP, Joe Arrouk, has worked in a range of sectors within the IP Industry since 2001.
Prior to launching First Step IP, Joe held the following positions:
- Patent attorney at a patent and trade mark attorney firm;
- Examiner of patents in different technology sections at the Australian Patent Office;
- IP Commercialisation Officer at an Australian IP management company;
- In-house IP Manager at a high-tech research and development company.
In his final year at the Australian Patent Office, Joe was appointed as the subject matter expert in the original team responsible for planning, devising, and launching ‘AusPat’, IP Australia’s new online patent database.
Joe has a degree in electronics and communications engineering and specialises in searching the following technology fields:
- Electronics and communications engineering;
- Mechanical engineering;
- Medical devices;
- Electrical engineering; and
- Computer engineering, ICT, software and gaming technology.
Our team also includes two consultants we can count on for searches relating to technology in the fields of physics or chemical engineering.
